LAKE FOREST, CA - February 28, 2007 - Cherie Anderson, the owner of
Professional Tour Management Training and the author of the,"Tour
Director Training Guide", is now offering her extensive training
online. If you love travel, people and making a good income, the
course, "Get Paid to Travel", may offer the career you've always
wanted. The course trains tour directors and guides for local,
domestic and international tours. You may be on an African safari one
week and cruising the Seven Seas the next.
Up until now the training was limited and difficult to find. "Get
Paid to Travel", is offered online through over 1,200 colleges in the
US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Guam. "I've tried to include
everything you need to be successful and get hired. Travel and
tourism is the largest and fastest growing industry in the world and
yet most people know very little of the extensive opportunities it
offers.", said Cherie Anderson. "The average income for an
experienced international and domestic tour director is 0 to 0
per day.", Ms. Anderson continued.
Cherie has been leading tours and cruises throughout the world since
1984. In 1993 she introduced tour management training to the colleges
in Southern California. Her past students are now leading tours
throughout the world. She stresses the need for training since most
colleges and private schools offer travel agent courses only. Their
skills are very different. The tour director is traveling over the
road with the tour group, not in the office selling the tours and
making reservations.
This is also a career where age is often an asset. In the past, tour
directors were young men right out of college. Today, approximately
60% of the tour directors are women. There is still a need for young
people in tourism but many of the tour directors have had other
careers, are retired and have grown children. There's a place for
everyone. The main concern of the tour operator is ability, not age.
"Get Paid to Travel", offers the opportunity to learn from a seasoned
professional. A new six week course is offered online each month.
You'll learn how to get hired and be part of the travel industry today!
