FAR ROCKAWAY, NY - December 22, 2004 - Santa has entered the computer
age this year. The long-standing traditional Letter to Santa is
quickly giving way to faster and better communication with the North
Pole. Now it is possible, with a little help from parents or
grandparents, for a child to send their "promises to be good" and a
list of all the "loot" they want for Christmas directly to the kindly
whiskered man himself, but with a new twist. The red-suited gentleman
is now able to answer each and every letter "quick as a wink!"
Santa does it with the help of an enterprising group of "computer geek
elves". They've figured out a way to see that the generous old gift
giver gets back to kids who write him almost immediately. Until now,
it seems Santa was so busy filling orders that he never had time to
acknowledge them personally. But all that's changed with 21st
century's better customer service.
According to Santa's little helpers, the "geek elves", they've
established a system that lets Santa reply right away to every good
little boy or girl who sends Santa an email. The elves have also
worked to "giftwrap" Santa's reply letter with a complete package that
includes online activities for the older "Santa Letter writer".
There's even a Virtual Jigsaw Christmas Puzzle that mom or dad might
try their hand at solving.
"This isn't just a new profit center for our North Pole operation,"
explains the workshop's C.I.E.O. (Chief Information Elf Officer).
"It's a way of giving better customer service in the current business
climate. Our young friends have a right to know that we are listening
and are responsive to their wishes. It's good for Santa's image."
From the details online, it appears Santa answers letters 24 hours a
day. When does he sleep? For an truly "senior citizen" who can travel
around the world in one night, that doesn´t seem to be much of a
problem.
