OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - September 12, 2007 - Beginning Friday September
14, 2007 at 5 p.m., a new show will be hitting the Oklahoma City
airwaves like you have never heard before on KTLR-AM 890. The Heart
and Soul of R&B with Charles Hightower, "The Tower of Power" will play
the roots of R&B music that has not been played on the Oklahoma City
airwaves in decades. From deep soul cuts to favorite classics, for
over two hours each Friday evening on KTLR-AM 890 and streaming on
KTLR.com, the station becomes a nostalgic trip through the past and
present, hitting soul, smooth jazz, blues, and neo-soul.
The mission is to take this small show and make it an experience,
through the Tower of Power's music knowledge. A show that plays music,
that is real, and that will make you not want to touch that dial like
the old days of radio. Sit back and enjoy the roots of some great
soulful music.
Charles Hightower has been in Oklahoma City radio for almost ten
years, playing the classics at KEBC-AM 1340, KOKC-AM 1490, and now
calling the shots on his show on KTLR-AM 890. A true veteran of the
R&B music scene dating back to his childhood in the 70's to his
enriched selection of melodies and tones that he hears today.
