LONDON, ENGLAND - January 20, 2006 - Football is a passionate game
and the World Cup is the epitome of sporting excellence and the
culmination of a lifetime of work for any football player. For any
player lucky enough to be fit and picked for the World Cup, it
represents the pinnacle of their career and will be remembered by all
participants forever. But FIFA has decided punish players because of
their expressions of joy since they have banned the removal of shirts
on the field. If a player removes his shirt by way of goal
celebration he will receive a mandatory yellow card. FIFA states,
"Players should avoid such excessive displays of joy." Where will they
draw the line?
Since these players aren't robots, and nor should people want them to
be, WorldCupLatest.com is launching a "Put The Passion Back In
Football" campaign and is petitioning the International F.A Board and
FIFA at the next annual general meeting in Zurich on March 2nd 2006 to
revoke the amendment to rule 12 now, and forever more.
WorldCupLatest.com is calling on fans from around the world to join
their campaign. The more football fans' signatures they have, the
louder the fans voices will be heard.
