CEDAR CITY, UT - August 15, 2005 - Senior Shopping Network (SSN) is
an online store specializing in numerous products for one of the
fastest growing, most underserved segments of American society - those
in their "next 50," their families and their caregivers. The Dail
family started SSN as a catalog business, but soon after learning that
more seniors are going online every day, the partners realized that
they could reach more people using the Internet while increasing their
product line and keeping prices low. To their surprise, the Dail's
also discovered that reaching one of the company's main goals of
adding "the personal touch" could actually be better achieved as an
online business than as a catalog business. "No matter how big we
might get, we always want to be that corner store that everyone
identifies with as part of the community culture," says Dan Dail, one
of the partners. "Imagine Norman Rockwell in the electronic age."
Senior Shopping Network owns up to its claim of truly being a family-
owned and operated business. Five Dail family members are involved in
virtually every aspect of the business. While each member has a
specific role in the organization, they dismiss fancy titles as only a
formality required to operate a business. Currently, only the call
center involves people outside the Dail family, but all customer
service responses come directly from a partner. "We spend lots of time
connecting with our customers through phone calls and emails," says
partner, Jill Dail. Every order that is shipped not only has a thank
you note from the family outlining their product and service policy
but also a personal handwritten note from one of the partners in order
fulfillment. From time to time, customers are called to make sure they
are satisfied with their orders and the service they received, to
listen to their comments, or just to have a visit. "We feel like we
are gaining lots of friends from among our customers," adds Jill Dail.
Even as the company grows, the partners vow to only take on new
employees and services that are entirely compatible with SSN's
dedication to personalized service and value.
The company realizes that a small business is built one customer at a
time and referrals are becoming a big part of organizational growth.
Company demographics point to younger Internet-savvy family members
buying for a parent or grandparent. Added to the personal touch, SSN
customers and their families want value - the point where "quality"
and "price" meet. In order to achieve this, many of the more popular
product categories have several choices at different price levels. To
remain viable, all businesses have to make periodic adjustments, but
SSN partners indicate they will remain patient and choose increasing
their customer base over spiking prices. In fact, SSN's most recent
price adjustment actually involved lowering many prices in the
clearance section.
The Senior Shopping Network website is "seniors friendly" and easy to
navigate. There are over 300 products, eight clear-cut product
categories, pictures that are high quality, and a font that can be
adjusted to enlarge the lettering. All major credit cards are
accepted online through the company website at
http://www.SeniorShoppingNetwork.com, or a customer can order by
calling a toll-free number, 1-866-ShopSSN (866-746-7776). Customers
can also email the partners at ssn@scstarnet.com. To assure customer
confidence, Senior Shopping Network is a member of the Better Business
Bureau Online Reliability Program.
