TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA — April 9, 2007 - Aspiring songwriters from
around the world have been counting down the days and hours until the
official launching of a unique songwriting lyrics contest that will
bring people together in one song. “Oceans of Love - The Song the
World Wrote” officially opened its Web doors today and began taking
entries for this extraordinary lyrics contest.

The contest is designed to achieve two goals - bring people together
to promote love, peace and paying it forward and to help win the
battle against cancer. The BC Cancer Foundation
(http://www.bccancerfoundation.com) is the grateful recipient of a
percentage of the net proceeds from the contestants’ entry fees
through the end of the contest, along with another international
cancer research organization (to be determined).

“This is a very inspirational project, as music is a great way to tell
a story and help find a cure. Cancer affects too many people and
hopefully, the proceeds from this song will help in finding a cure. I
look forward to hearing the finished song,” says Shane Bourbonnais,
President of Live Nation in Canada.

The idea to put together a worldwide songwriting effort originated
when Lucy DeLima-Wilson and her son Johnny DeLima decided it was time
to unite the world in spreading cheer and goodwill to others. Today,
that dream became a reality as the lyrics contest opened to entrants.

Lucy DeLima-Wilson states, “This will be the first time a songwriting
effort of this magnitude has ever been attempted, and we invite you to
be an important part of this collective brainstorm."

What makes the contest so unique is that anyone can enter a line, and
visitors to the Web site will vote at the end of each week to
determine which entry will become the next line of the song. The
contest will run for 24 weeks and all entries are taken online at the
official Web site - songtheworldwrote.com. The next phase of the
contest will be to write the music and finally, have the song recorded
by an international recording artist.

“Oceans of Love - The Song the World Wrote” will help the many
thousands of people around the world who are affected by cancer every
day. The BC Cancer Foundation is honored to be one of the two
charities chosen to deliver this message of hope,” states Nicholas
Locke, Senior Vice President, Development, BC Cancer Foundation.

The song’s title “Oceans of Love - The Song the World Wrote” and its
first line were written by Emmy Award Winning Songwriter A.J. Gundell.
A new line will be added each Monday morning.
