NEW YORK, NY - August 14, 2009 - Inc. Magazine today ranked 49er
Communications, Inc. NO. 3346 on its third annual Inc. 5000, an
exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies.
This is the second year in a row that 49er Communications has made the
list for a total growth of 383.6 percent since 2004. The list
represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment
of the economy, America's independent-minded entrepreneurs. Consumer
electronics maker Vizio, Internet giant GoDaddy, rental car service
Zipcar, and beverage maker Honest Tea are among the prominent brands
featured on this year's list.
"Savvy trend spotters and those who invest in private companies know
that the Inc. 5000 is the best place to find out about young companies
that are achieving success through a wide variety of unprecedented
business models, as well as older private companies that are still
expanding at an impressive rate," said Inc. 5000 project manager Jim
Melloan. "That's why our list is so eagerly anticipated every year."
Founded in 1997 by President & CEO Holley Masch, 49er Communications
grew from selling to farms and businesses in Northern California to
the US Forest Service, BIA, BLM and many more Federal and State
entities nationwide that require two way radios, accessories and
repair. "We continue to listen to our customers and add items to our
portfolio, in an effort to become that one stop shop for ease of
access to what the industry needs. In addition, we attribute our
steady growth to providing heroic efforts with our customer service to
keep clients coming back," comments Masch.
The 2009 Inc. 5000 list measures revenue growth from 2005 through
2008. To qualify, companies must be U.S. based and privately held,
independent, not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies as of
December 31, 2008, and have had at least 0,000 in revenue in 2005,
and million in 2008.
"Our company makes diligent efforts to stay on top of the latest
cutting edge technology and informs our end users of not only what's
available today, but what's coming in the future, so they can make
informed buying decisions," added Masch.
The 2009 Inc. 5000, unveiled today on Inc.com, serves as a unique
report card on the U.S. economy. Despite the ongoing recession,
aggregate revenue among the companies on the list actually increased
to 4 billion, up billion from last year, with a median three
year growth rate of 126 percent. The Inc. 5000 are responsible for
creating more than 1 million jobs since their founding, making the
list perhaps the best example of the impact private, fast-growing
companies can have on the economy.
